We thought it will be a nice experience to show Bubu some spring bloom. Our adventure took us to Filoli, on a crisp, sunny Sunday morning.

It's April, the month of 'spring'. Our Bubu loves to stop and smell the roses #flowers. He scrunches his tiny nose to do so, its super cute. Regardless he is a great admirer of nature and enjoys a good stroll in a outdoor setting. We thought it will be a nice experience to show him some spring bloom. Our adventure took us to Filoli, on a crisp, sunny Sunday morning, just a day before our marriage anniversary. It's a perfect family getaway when you have only a couple hours to spare on a busy weekend filled with chores.

This property was built for Mr. and Mrs. William Bowers Bourn II, the owners of the Empire Gold Mine in Grass Valley, California. It's now donated, to the National Trust for Historic Preservation for the enjoyment and inspiration of future generations. So the Bourn house is open for tour and such a pretty site. Trust me your California homes will look like a mole hole in front of this humongous mansion. It's a whooping 54,256 Sq Feet with 56 rooms. For a regular tour only the first floor is open. It's definitely breathtaking. For a history and architecture geek like me it's a treat to the eyes.

For lil ones they have a game spot the dog, Toto. Which Bubu did. In every room I asked him can he see a doggy and he was good at it. At the end you get a sticker for spotting Toto in 5 locations. So was quite a treat for Bubu.

I stepped out, thinking what can be prettier than this man made glory ... well nature surprised me. The garden is breathtaking. The choice of trees and plants is exquisite. It felt right out of a dream. So dainty and lush. It's a perfect setting for any romantic couple photoshoot.

Bubu enjoyed his stroll in the various garden's on this property. Smelling flowers and picking pebbles he was having a blast. We took a few pics too it was difficult to pick only few spots to click. Everything in 360 degree periphery looked stunning. Definitely a must visit place for all the Bay Area To-Doer's and their Bubu's.

It was a nice break from the monotonous week, a place where Devavrat and Filoli reminded us to actually stop to smell the roses. Filoli to me was filled with sights of luxury, abundance and beauty, a place that inspires you to dream big.
