A bunny and a flower from the stash in your recycle trash.
Its April and some easter/spring themed crafts is perfect to try our hands on. I had saved a few pastry boxes from valentines as their shape looked perfect to make bunny ears or flower petals. I do clean+save few recycle friendly trash if they inspire me of any craft ideas. We may not use them immediately but eventually we do get to it. We made a flower and a bunny coz our recyclable pastry box reminded me of a petal and ears. But you can turn it into whatever inspires you looking at our trash stash. You can even brainstorm with your Bubu.
#1 Artwork: Spring flower
Easy and you need only a handful of materials to start.
Let's make it
You will need
Pastry box
Small paper plate
Paints
Tissue
Glue / Stapler / Glue gun
Process
Use the pastry box to make petals. Ours looked exactly like a 4 petaled flower so we did not have to cut. Staple 2 boxes together. Bubu choose yellow to color the petals. Petals are ready.
Now for the center of the flower. Use the small paper plate as a base. Roughly tear brown paper or brown tissue using your hands or scissors. Roll the paper to give the project some texture. Use glue to attach the rolled paper onto the paper plate.
Glue the paper plate to make the center of the flower.
That is it your flower is ready.
#2 Artwork: Easter bunny
Just like the earlier project this is easy and you will need only a handful materials to start.
Let's make it
You will need
Pastry box
Big paper plate
Paints
Googly eyes / buttons / pipe cleaner to embellish
Glue / Stapler / Glue gun
Process
Take a pastry box. Cut out ears. Ours looked exactly like ears so I just cut it into half to make 2 ears. Mark the insides of the ear and let bubu color it pink. Staple or glue these ears to the top of the paper plate.
Let Bubu use any embellishments you have on hand to make the face features. We used goggly eyes, button, pipe cleaner. You can even paint the eyes, nose, whiskers on.
Bunny is ready.
Bubu got a chance to share his lovely creations during 'Show & Tell" at his Montessori. Hope you enjoy making and displaying these during this spring season.
