Replace Nutella with nutrition.
Nutritious chocolate spread.
As I mentioned earlier, I never planned sharing food recipes. With current pandemic we aren't doing any interesting outdoor adventures. Also, the need to have a healthy snack for your lo never ends, so why not.
It's a great recipe as it has few ingredients, and all nutrient dense. Not to forget pure, unsweetened cocoa powder is antioxidant rich. This spread is preservatives free. And sugar free as the sweetener is honey + dates. You can make it with almond butter, walnut butter or hazelnut butter. Our favorite is hazelnut as it tastes like a yummier version of Nutella.
I do not have photos for each step as this was a after thought, but the steps are easy :)
Let's make it
You will need
Nut butter - 1/2 cup
Pure cocoa powder - 2 Tbsp
Honey - 2 Tbsp
Date syrup - 2 Tbsp
Water - 2 Tbsp
Process
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together. I used all organic but it should not matter.
Transfer to an air-tight container. Store in the fridge for up to one month. I don't think it will last that long :)
As simple as that. Your Bubu can help in mixing, which toddler does not like help "cook" after all. We loved it, definitely its worth it.
