A fun sensory and fine motor skill activity for your Bubu!

This was quick + easy to set up and with tasty end result so why not. Lets bake a pizza!
Let's make it:
You will need

Pizza Dough (Trader Joe's and Whole Foods have ready-to-bake dough options)
Basil/Herbs
Margarita/any Sauce of choice
Mozzarella Cheese
Veggies of choice (per cut). We kept it simple with mushroom slices as our veggie of choice, and got into this quickly
Toddler Apron. After all we are dealing with pizza sauce Mamma! We got ours from Ikea which we actually use during meal times. I feel it makes my Bubu look super cute and saves a lot of clothes from stains. It's great for crafting and painting and sensory activities like these too.
Process
Prop your Bubu on the floor on a mat or not.
Use a tray and place the pizza dough in it and let them roll out the dough with a rolling pin or hands. Instead if talking what to do just demonstrate and then let them follow your lead like the Montessori way of teaching. It's more efficient and they grasp quickly.

Once the dough is flattened out. Take a spoon each and demonstrate spooning and spreading the sauce let them carry this activity until the pizza is covered.
Next demo how to place the veggies on the pizza and let them complete the task.
Finish with placing mozzarella slices.
Place in the oven for baking, follow directions as per your packaging.
Do light up the oven occasionally to show the baking process. It also helps to open the oven door and sneak peek the baking pizza as the sizzling sound adds to the sensory experience. Be cautious, take the help of your partner or family so Bubu is at a safe distance from the oven. Its a nice family activity for a rainy day!
We loved making and eating our pizza.
Of course it wasn't picture perfect like it looks. It all depends on the mood of your kid that day. Bubu was more interested in spooning all the sauce on the pizza which I almost let him then put more than half of it back in the jar. Or the toppings he had patience until he put the 4th mushroom on the base, then he thought of the most brilliant method and just inverted the whole try of cut veggies and cheese on the pizza base. So it's going to be a lot messy then it looks here but Bubu's will have fun is guaranteed, and also a tasty pizza. A win win!
I feel cooking is a life skill. By making it a fun activity from a young age, may develop interest + can build affinity towards cooking while teaching a important survival skill set, regardless of you Bubu's gender. So for me cooking together for fun is something I will love to incorporate and explore more. I would love to know what you have tried or plan to try with your Bubu.
