Artwork - palm tree

Updated: Mar 13, 2020

Make a palm tree or just a tree with your Bubu's palm prints.

Impromptu artwork!

We made an impromptu craft. It was a spontaneous request by Bubu one Saturday morning. It was inspired by the supplies we had at the moment in our craft drawer. All you need is your Bubu's palm prints/cutouts to make this "palm" tree.

Let's make it

You will need

  1. Card sheet

  2. Green paper shades if possible

  3. Brown paper

  4. Stickers (anything that lives, sits, grows on the tree)

  5. Glue stick

Process

  • Use your Bubu's palm to trace as leaves on the different shades of green paper. You can even dip it in paint and apply to add more depth, texture and fun.

  • Use Bubu's forearm to trace the trunk.

  • I asked Bubu to help with applying glue stick to the cutout shapes.

  • I stuck the cutouts to form a tree.

  • We had monkey stickers (a gift from a dear friend).

  • Bubu placed a few monkeys on the tree and gave each a banana close by to eat. How sweet!

  • And just like that in 30 mins your artwork was ready!

We loved how our tree turned out. The best part was Bubu's expressions when he saw the hand-cutouts arranged to become a tree.
