We just celebrated Bubu's 2nd birthday x 2 times!
We just came back from India. It was an exciting and a fun-packed trip as my sister got married. We were returning home(California) just 10 days before Bubu's birthday; so we decided let's once again celebrate his birthday in India with grandparents and both our sibling sisters. Isn't it just perfect when you get a chance to celebrate with family.
Like I had mentioned in my earlier post if you center the birthday around what your Bubu currently is obsessed with instead of what themes are trending currently, it's going to be loved and thoroughly enjoyed by the person that matters "your Bubu". So that in mind we had a truck theme birthday as my Bubu is obsessed with vehicles. Bubu still loves the color yellow so it was perfect. The banner, paper flowers and invite were handmade by me. The truck buttons on his overalls were added by me to tie into the theme. Well he loved his birthday once again. He was so excited to see the truck everywhere in the form of balloons, on the cake, on his dress. He immediately started playing with the cake topper trucks once the cake cutting was done.
And then this weekend on his actual birthday we celebrated him and his recent obsession by going to the Hiller, Aviation Museum at San Mateo. It's a beautiful Museum with aircraft overload. It is just spectacular with such detailed models highlighting the history of Aircrafts and the experiments done in California and globally. And then gradually moves to the present to include drones. There are tons of activities that will keep your Bubu engaged and at any age:
#1 Drone plex
You can observe drone demonstrations, take the controls of a realistic drone simulator and pilot an actual drone in the Drone Plex flight center all included with Museum admission.
#2 Flight sim zone
Here you can virtually fly and see the perspective of a pilot. Real pilots will show you how to control a Cessna 172, including landing procedures, cross-country flight, multi-engine procedures, bad-weather flying and more.
#3 FMX flight simulator
At the FMX Flight Simulator you can fly with a pilot instructor in an FAA approved full-motion flight simulator, the kind typically seen only in-flight schools and training academies used in real world flight training. The cockpit is fully functional, and the sensations of flight are amazing. This is the most realistic experience possible short of flying a real airplane!
#4 Invention lab
This “mini makers lab” has hands-on STEM activities and experiments make science engaging and memorable for kids. Here they can use the tools of science to explore aviation, aerodynamics, engineering, assembly, and design.
#5 Playzone
And if your Bubu is too little for any of these like mine there is a soft play activity zone. The foam stacking blocks, rocking planes and a see saw, which our Bubu throughly enjoyed.
